Description
Summary:Wireless streaming technology is a leap beyond just connecting media devices through intermediate equipment such as cables and router. The idea of this technology is to allow consumers to stream media seamlessly between wireless enabled devices. This technology has the ability to move high definition media content from a small screen device to a device with a bigger screen [1]. This is where Mobile Social TV comes into place. The purpose of starting the Mobile Social TV project is to provide a platform for consumers to stream media between wireless enabled devices seamlessly. Currently, there are wireless streaming products available on the market. However, the technology can only be used with specific products due to compatibility standards. One example is Apple’s AirPlay technology that allows consumers to stream media wirelessly between Apple devices such as IPhone and Apple TV [2]. Therefore, this project aims to support all device types – Android and IOS. The scope of this project is to design the user interface of Running TV – the application used to stream media between wireless devices. Other tasks involved enhancing current user interface designs as well as researching on the kind of design patterns suitable for implementing interactive guides for Running TV.
