Due to the huge gap between demand and supply for AIP in Singapore as well as the rest of the world, it is a golden opportunity to develop health-related systems for the elderly. This project developed a web application named eHealthbook to provide a platform to help the family and doctor to acquire the health status of the elderly. eHealthbook provides four main functions. Firstly, the stream page helps the family know where the elderly are going and what they are doing. Secondly, an assessment system named Well-being Index System is implemented to evaluate the performance of the elderly based on four different quotients, namely physical quotient, emotional quotient, cognitive quotient and social quotient. Thirdly, the medical page helps store the medical history of the elderly. The medical page functions as a mini version of electronic health record (EHR). With the help of medical page, the doctor can treat the elderly more efficiently and systematically. Last but not least, the calendar page is utilized to manage the schedule of the elderly. The family can suggest a social event and the doctor can make an appointment through the calendar page. The local calendar is designed to synchronize with Google Calendar. Therefore, the events locally added will be synchronized with the calendar on the smart phone of the elderly. In conclusion, this project has developed an all-round and user-friendly platform to help the elderly for AIP. Aging in place (AIP) has received a significant amount of attention nowadays, as the world population is aging fast.
