Description
Summary:Audio Signal Processing technics play very important roles in our daily life. The percetion of audio signals is a quite complicated process involving a number of acoustical, physiological and psychological effects. One property of the auditory system which has been widely exploited in several audio and speech processing algorithms is the masking effect. The other one is Equal Loudness Curve, which is used to equalize an audio signal so as to increase a loudness of an audio signal. A sound quality can be significantly enhanced with the enhancement of a sound cleanness and quality when being adapted to a communication apparatus such as a telephone terminal, a transmitter or a repeater. In this paper, I would like to introduce these two concepts: Auditory Masking Effect and Equal Loudness Curve. Two User Interfaces were developed to bring the concepts to front stage. It allows users to experience and feel the phenomenon directly.
