Description
Since the creation of Chinese Literature in Malaysia, majority of the authors involved were male. They were of great eminence and the focus of many commentators. This phenomenon had marginalized the positions of the minority female authors. Hence, the novel creations of female authors, for instance, Shangwanjun, Chong Yee-Voon and Lizishu become even precious and valuable, especially Lizishu, whose fame resounded China and Taiwan’s literary circles for her profound writing ability and highly unique style, had made a good figure in HuaZong Literary Award. Likewise the contemporary Malaysian Chinese authors, Lizishu took the duty of writing the history and culture of the Malaysian Chinese. This article focally discusses Lizishu’s novel collection YePuSa by analysing the characteristics and fortune of novel characters, and how she presented the history of the Malaysian Chinese. It also unscrambles Lizishu’s views on the dual marginal identities of both the females and the Malaysian Chinese.
