Description
Summary:Capital restructuring of companies is synonymous to the "excitement" in Malaysia. It has been said that the 1993's mother of all bull runs in Malaysia is partly attributed to this magic word -- capital restrocturing. The stock market has been flooded .with a series of private injection of assets into publicly listed companies and acquisitions of companies. As a result, this paper attempts to analyse the various capital restructuring methods so as to help investors differentiate between value added restructuring and pure paper reshuffling of assets. Hence, the various methods of restructuring will be explained, followed by an analysis of five groups of companies. Finally, a conclusion will be drawn from the study of the five groups of companies.
