The purpose of this application is to motivate users to keep track of their blood pressure status at home. The application is aimed towards users aged 30 years and above. However, the User Interface (UI) is designed for the elderly aged 60 years and above, using recommendations such as colours with high contrast, larger fonts, and displaying more verbal items on screen. These recommendations can be found in various researches. The application is implemented using Android and other third-party libraries such as AChartEngine and iText. Challenges faced include learning Android as a beginner and making the automatic connection between the blood pressure device and application. At the end of the project, an Android application is created which allows the users to connect to their blood pressure device automatically, to set daily reminder, to view their blood pressure readings in a line chart and to send the readings via SMS or Email. Future recommendations to make this application sustainable are adding a server to allow easier transition from one phone to another and adding additional languages.
