Description
Summary:Often, a group of friends or business associates have limited time to meet. They might be restricted with the office lunch time or class break. They travel from different places with various transportation modalities, would ideally meet in one place between their locations, and go back to their respective office/school on time. This project addressed this problem by developing a web application which determines an optimal meeting place in Singapore minimizing the elapsed travel time of participating individuals respective to their initial locations and transportation modalities. Furthermore, several empirical studies were carried out in this project in order to conclude its finest algorithm which led to the most effective and meaningful recommendations. In the end, the author attained the fair weighting system between public transportation and driving travel modes in Singapore as well as the optimum search radius, which were further implemented in the application.
