Description
Summary:Along with the advancement of modern technology there is a gradual revolution in the fashion world as fashion shows have grown in scale as well as their adoption of modern technology in experimental manner. Correlated to the increase in uptake of new technology and theatrics is the scale, difficulty and cost of fashion shows in the 21st Century. Traditional model which uses paper mediums and physical mock up to plan and design fashion show is poor at communicating ideas such as timed events and dynamic changes in spatial relationship. Physical mock ups are also slow and expensive, and limit the number of revision and changes that can be made within a planning period. This report proposes the use of a virtual fashion show simulator as a rapid-prototyping tool to answer the design changes faced by modern fashion show. The simulator will come with a preset catalogue of built in runaway and walk designs as well as character models. The user will be able to customise these existing assets to plan and build a visual prototype of a fashion show in a short amount of time. Additionally, the tool is expected to improve the design workflow of a fashion show by allowing more collaborative work through a single fashion show project and easy integration. The simulator is developed on the Unity 3D platform using an incremental model.
