This report mainly draws upon the research analysis and application development, which he had done for his Final year project. The purpose of conducting this project is to evaluate the performance of the various mobile security applications available in the Google Play Store. The performance metrics of five mobile security applications are analyzed and evaluated to determine which mobile security application is the most effective and suitable for a mobile user to download. User scenarios are identified as test cases, to put the security application under test. This report will illustrate the research, which was done to explore the android operating system and its security features. Furthermore, this report will also present the results of the testing process done for the various test scenarios. In consonance with the results, the efficient security application will be identified and introduced to the mobile user. The latter part of the report will demonstrate how the monitoring android application is developed by the author during the last few weeks of the Final year project. The monitoring application will be able to monitor the mobile user behavior and recommend the most efficient mobile security application to the mobile user.
