Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) has existed since the 1970s, and continues to play a vital role today in the workflow of medical laboratories. However, these systems were found to be lagging behind in terms of technology, causing usability and security problems. Moreover, they are also known to be resistant to change, making them difficult to be upgraded. This report will analyse the causes of these problems, as well as discuss ways to resolve and avoid these problems from existing literature. In addition, this report will also detail the current design, implementation and improvements over the previous version of LIS website application, along with a walkthrough of the current LIS website application.
