Description
Summary:This essay will seek to bridge the gap between tomboy embodiment and tomboy authorship, in both theory and fiction. With Halberstam and Alcott being tomboys it is intriguing how they have chosen to author books regarding tomboys and tomboyism, the former focused on a theoretical approach and the latter on fiction. In my exploration of tomboy authorship I would like to argue that as much as tomboy authorship allows for a broader understanding of the tomboy experience, there is a conflict of interests present in the nature of tomboy authorship due to the inability to consolidate the embodiment of tomboys in theory.
