Advanced technology has brought us to the next level not only with the ease of accessing and analysing big data, it is also capable of equipping us with the ability to manage, organize and plan effectively. The notion of time management and control can make use of wireless, mobile or hand-held devices as a remote controller to handle electronic appliances in a home setting. The concept of creating a home automation mobile application will be the focus of this project; and in addition, to incorporate user experience with interactive features that can attract end users. The project will make use of Google Sketch-Up Pro software tool to model a three-dimensional home environment space and this environment will be imported into Unity3D game development platform which is capable of bringing forth artistic power as well as creating great user experiences to end users. The product of this project will simulate a first person view controller interacting with the modelled home environment by automatically switching lights on and off as well as supporting energy efficiency mechanisms by controlling the intensity of the lights at different time intervals of the day in order to reduce electricity consumption.
