Description
Summary:Firms are increasingly adopting a global perspective. This is evident in the accelerating internationalization of the world's financial capital markets. In particular, the Singapore domestic economy is too small for local firms ever to be profitable if they were to concentrate their efforts here. In our project, we attempt to evaluate the performance of a local firm, Creative Technology, who has listed its shares on the US Nasdaq stock exchange as part of its internationalization strategy. Through listing overseas, Creative has succeeded in achieving a run-up on its share price because of its management's far-sighted corporate strategy as well as the existence uf a huge untapped market. Two major benefits of international listings are the ability to enhance the company's reputation and the opportunities for cooperative business, including mergers and acquisitions. Through this listing, Creative has successfully acquired US based E-Mu systems and Share Vision Technology.
