In addition, it traces the development of SES after the split from KLSE in 1990 with the setting up of an OTC market - CLOB International. To be in line with the government's efforts to create awareness among local firms to list their securities overseas , the report also contains a write-up on the market background and the listing requirements of the various foreign stock exchanges . At the same time , the report covers some of the factors that may motivate a firm to seek listing overseas . To conduct the above study, the methodology adopted includes data collection from various financial journals, local newspapers, magazines and relevant books and analysis on the data collected . Based on our findings, it is recommended that big and well-established Singapore companies should venture into overseas capital market to be in line with the government policy of going regional. Furthermore, SES should also continue to improve its operations and embark on more attractive policies to encourage huge and established foreign companies to list in Singapore . By doing so, it will enhance the image of SES as an international capital market in the Asia-Pacific region.
