Summary: | Data analysis and visualisation is used to extract visual information out of raw data so that one can communicate significance of data effectively to users of the analysis tool. Due to the large amount of data present, data analysis and presentation have advanced past electronic spreadsheets and plain text, and require something more sophisticated to interpret data. Although visualizing data is increasing popularity among various organizations, the current Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Teaching Feedback Management System is still displaying the feedback results in conventional tables and texts. This method of illustrating results is not effective enough as it does not provide user the ability to discover patterns and trends based on historical data. A data analytics and visualization tool is built for analysing faculty teaching feedback data. This project addresses the issue on the use of plain tables and text for the viewing of teaching faculty feedback results. Patterns of data can be discovered by taking inputs of historical records from the faculty teaching feedback data. Tag cloud and a series of charts with dynamic range of x and y-axis are generated to ensure consistent scales of every chart. The project also focuses on adding onto the fact that how much visual models capture and appeal to a viewer. |
