Summary: | Developing MacRitchie is a mixed media art installation which questions and challenges Land Transport Authority’s (LTA) proposal of the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Cross Island Line (CRL) cutting across MacRitchie Reservoir. Signs are appropriated into sculptures and video monologues are introduced as part of the installation. Developing MacRitchie is a social critique to LTA’s plans to interfere with nature and heritage spaces for development purposes. It aims to protest and raise awareness of the potential consequences of the CRL and challenges the term “development” in Singapore’s context. |
