Description
Summary:The social dynamics of a population has capacity to shape and nurture its collective identity. Singapore, a nation-state made up of mismatch culture and people, has challenges creating its identity due to its very own unique cultural mosaic. As such, this research examined the proximity of interactions between its local and immigrant communities to study the multiplicity of Singapore’s identity. As a design research, graphic representations were sourced from social and visual perceptions to compose the designer’s interpretation of national identity for a poetic expression of words and visuals.
