Summary: | Under the BMW-NTU lab, my final year project delivers a specially customized 3D car driving simulation system to emulate vehicle driving environment. This is the front-end presentation layer system of the whole project team. As the bridge between the users and research teams, this 3D vehicle simulator brings realistic driving experience to potential clients and wide spectrum data collection platform for whole project research. Scenarios such as community, campus, and Singapore city view are uniquely designed and implemented as part of this project. These scenarios produced a unique and customized platform to simulate driving situation near to real life experiences. The vivid and unique graphic user interface is designed and implemented, including Singapore HDB Models, Campus Hall Building Models, BMW-NTU street board and tropical terrain view. This creative innovation tailored my special simulator into Singapore features as well as BMW-NTU Lab labeled. Besides the customized user-oriented interface implementation, functions such as keyboard controlling, crashing effects triggered by collision between car and buildings are also modified using JavaScript and C# language. These functions realized the simulation as the real driving situation. Reaction and human- machine interaction can be more obvious detected. Wider spectrum and more accurate data can be collected in this application. Focus on e-based vehicles, BMW project team research is interested in data collection related to tropical megacities such as Singapore. There are eye detection, brain signal detection, and head gesture detection to collect wide spectrum data of car driving. A system with user-oriented interface is designed by me. The system will realize functions such as controlling car through keyboard using this simulating car application to give real experience to user of driving the car. |
