Symmetry in the quantized Baker's map and its effect on entanglement
The purpose of this project is to investigate the effects of symmetry on the entanglement power of the quantized Baker operator. We start off by defining the classical Baker’s map and went on to represent it as a shift operator on a string of qubits. Through the process, we brought our attention to...

We start off by defining the classical Baker’s map and went on to represent it as a shift operator on a string of qubits. Through the process, we brought our attention to the symmetries found in the classical version and the quantized operator. We then define and compared several entanglement measures, eventually settling on concurrence as our standard measure. Using the concurrence measure, we measured the entanglement generated by the Baker operator. We then represented the Baker operator as a block matrix in order to construct a spatially asymmetrical variation. With this variation, we measured the entanglement power and found out that spatial symmetry had little to no effect on entanglement.
