This project is to design and develop a special form of miniature satellite CanSat that is one type of sounding rocket used to teach space technology. The main focus of this project is to develop multiple CanSat platforms with different capabilities that will enhance the benefits of the sensors in detecting weather and temperature conditions. Furthermore this project can assist in the simulation prototype of any NTU satellite project. CanSat project can be an initial learning stage of the complex NTU satellite system. By exploring into the different functions of CanSat’s capability, the cost effective priority is still a challenge in choosing the necessary components and payload that needed to be balanced. In addition, one of prototype is Weather CanSat which will be a test trial for the upcoming NTU weather satellite launch. From this project, the communications and connectivity between the microcontroller and various sensors will be a fundamental knowledge. Parameters like size, shape and weight of CanSat must also be taken into considerations as the descend rate may be affected. The additional feature of receiving live data through a ground receiver will enable the monitoring of position, altitude and sensors data for any immediate action to be taken during drop test.
