Description
Summary:As we all know that Singapore is a very small city and there are a lot of car in Singapore. In this small and fast pace city, we need to get to our destination as quickly as possible. Therefore having a car will provide more convenient and privacy for individual comparing with public transport. As car provide us with the convenient, we must also have the courtesy to give way to emergency vehicle such as Ambulance, Police vehicle or Fire Engine with blinker light on. Currently, drivers only notice the emergency vehicle when it is behind them but in future, with the help of the Cohda Wireless Unit, we can send out an emergency message through broadcasting and inform or alert the drivers - who will be in the informing radius - to avoid certain lane for the vehicle to pass through easily and more quicker as compared to now.[ ] For the sending of the emergency message, we will be using the Basic Safety Message header to include this message and broadcast out to the other vehicle around it. We are also able to use one of the message type - mainly just for emergency vehicle - defined in the J2735 standard which is the Emergency Vehicle Alert Message type. But since there is a little knowledge to Basic Safety Message which can also broadcast the emergency vehicle message, we will make use of this type of message for the beginning. For the outcome of this project, we must be able to broadcast this emergency message specially created for ambulance. Further add on to the project will be creating a pop up message for vehicle receiving this broadcasting and this pop up message will display the warning message sent by the emergency vehicle.
