Development and characterisation of a polyurethane-modified isocyanurate-oxazolidone polymer system
This project sought to evaluate the effect of stoichiometry and rubber concentration on polyurethane (PU) - modified isocyanurate-oxazolidone (ISOX) polymer. The PU-modified ISOX system consisted of a diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (DGEBA), castor oil, polymeric 4,4'- diphenylmethane diisocyan...

Summary: | This project sought to evaluate the effect of stoichiometry and rubber concentration on polyurethane (PU) - modified isocyanurate-oxazolidone (ISOX) polymer. The PU-modified ISOX system consisted of a diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (DGEBA), castor oil, polymeric 4,4'- diphenylmethane diisocyanate (pMDI) and Ancamine K54 as the catalyst. The modified system was formed by incorporating the ISOX matrix with rubbery PU phase. Isocyanurate and oxazolidone were the products of trimerization reaction of isocyanate group (NCO) in pMDI and the reaction between NCO and the epoxide of DGEBA, respectively. PU was formed by reacting the hydroxyl group (OH) in castor oil and the NCO group in pMDI. |
