Summary: | As China is now a popular investment location due to its rapid development and
largely untapped markets, it is therefore timely to conduct a study to examine the type of
risks that are unique to doing business there.
The research technique employed was a questionnaire survey which was replicated
from a study by Ion Amariuta, D. P. Rutenberg and R. Staelin.
The purpose of our study was to evaluate local investors' perceptions of investing in
China. The results obtained indicated that if managers get involved in activities with China
instead of just planning in their office, they are likely to perceive less risk and inconvenience
doing business in China. It was also found that investors were indifferent between investments
in China and India. In addition, recommendations are made for public policy, managers and
future researchers. |
