Description
Summary:The society’s expectation for organization leaders has become more stringent over the years as they are the key drivers for success, regardless of the potential of the project or the capabilities of the organization. The relationship between personality types and individual’s leadership performance has been closely examined and researched on as many researchers believe that there is a direct correlation between these two factors, hence affecting a person’s performance in their working environment. Personality types can be assessed through many personality indicators such as FIRO-B or Myerrs-Briggs Type Indicator Instrument, which are the more common ones. These assessments will generate a final report informing the participant their overall leadership trait alongside any suggestions for change or additional things to take note, after the completion of the questionnaires. The main focus of this study is to create a system for people to access these sets of questionnaires with convenience, process the data received and present them with their individual leadership skill sets through a formal report. The author was given a report by the previous student who worked on the similar project to prove the relationship between leadership performance and personality types, to further improve on it and present it in the form of webpage or mobile application. The two main changes from the previous student’s work in an attempt to make this system more relevant to the working environment is by : i) cross referencing with the business representatives of existing companies with strong leadership styles, as well as ii) corporate usage for employers to have a detailed leadership assessment for individuals during the employment phase. The preliminary results is attained from a group of students in NTU to examine the practicality as well as effectiveness of this system. Overall, the 360 leadership system was effective in delivering the initial aim of the author of providing a simple and interactive platform for users in understanding their personality in a workplace.
