Summary: | With the extensive use of HVAC systems implemented today, high accuracy of airflow measurement is required to save costs for only a small amount of redundant air will be conditioned. With the popular technique used such as Dedicated Outdoor Air Systems (DOAS), this issue becomes more severe. Hence, to solve this problem, this project has been proposed to develop an accurate yet cost-effective airflow station for DOAS. Existing airflow measurement techniques will be researched and figure out the functional and performance difference and select proper setup for DOAS. The station will be experimentally optimized in terms of the placement off the airflow sensor and calibrating it to its highest accuracy operation. In conclusion, the project was a success and tested repeatedly to have an accuracy up to +/- 10% of airflow set point. It has also been optimized by getting the optimal gain for the controller to get the desired output response. |
