Just like our human brain, the energy management system act as a central controller system whereby it will coordinate the transmission and delivery control and monitoring of information through advanced energy sensors and smart meters. As Singapore is working in direction of greener environment and improving the energy security for the future, this project will look into the design for the use of interconnected multiple smart grid which involve both demand as well as the supply side. The report will talk about how the concept of the combined multiple grid comes about and how it is beneficial in the energy sector. The individual distributed energy resources (DERs) such as micro turbine, photovoltaic cell as well as electricity grid will be focused specifically in terms of their working principle and derivation of their cost function. The use of mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) optimization approach will be applied in this project with the implementation of Matlab and an external modelling language toolkit to develop the model which can cipher a concrete and impeccable flow of power from the supply to the demand side in the most reasonable price for the consumers. A design with test cases will be proposed to illustrate this flow of power between the interconnected systems of the Micro Grids together with the graphical results to support overall objectives of this project. Finally, a conclusion and recommendations will be mentioned to improve a more practicable system in the enhancement for this project.
