Tan Wesley Chee Wah School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering DRNTU::Engineering::Electrical and electronic engineering::Computer hardware, software and systems In today’s Singapore society, most of the general population have an average standard of living. However, there is a certain percentage of the people who are still unable to even afford basic household items. Hence these low income families do require a helping hand to gain and to also sustain an average standard of leaving. Although there are charitable organizations, most people are unaware of how to go about donating reusable items, and also people might find it a hassle to actually go to a specific location to drop off items, especially if they are bulky. Hence, most people end up discarding the item or pass it to be recycled rather than reused, even though it is of good working condition. With the help of information technology, the author developed a web application named Don-Aid, which would provide great assistance to the low income families. In the internet age, almost everything is done using web application. Thus the Don-Aid web application would be a good platform for donors to contribute to the society by playing their parts through donation of reusable items.
