Description
Summary:With the wide adoption of massive open online course, e-learning has gained its popularity among college students. For secondary and junior college students in Singapore, a high percentage relies on tuition to enhance the understanding of course materials. However, problems are found in the conventional tuition industry in Singapore, such as ineffectiveness in terms of traveling time and interaction, high cost and mis-match between tutors and tutees. The objective of this project is to design and develop an online-tuition platform, which improve the learning experience of students and enhance a tutor’s outreach to students. Following software development life cycle, the design process of web platform start from the application requirements, followed by constructing the site map, system logic flow and relational database design. During the implementation phase, five web-programming languages have been adopted to implement the functionalities. In the system maintenance and improvement phase, responsive web design and database populating have been achieved. The project successfully implemented the functionalities for both student and tutor; and it ensured a smooth and user-friendly web platform operation.
