This thesis investigates the causal factors of the supply chain dynamics. Based on the experiment on a typical supply chain model, coordination dynamics is identified as a critical contributing factor to the supply chain dynamics. Five interdependencies between the activities in supply networks are identified. Among the five interdependencies, identical supply interdependency, complementary supply interdependency, one supplier-many customer interdependency, and supplier-intermediary-end user triangle interdependency are the network balance related interdependencies. The demand interdependency is the SC dynamics related interdependency.
