Summary: | 'Entrepreneurship Study' has been gaining popularity in recent years in Singapore. The
relevance of 'Entrepreneurship Study' lies not only in the fact that it helps individuals fulfill
their personal needs, but also because of the economic function of new ventures.
Entrepreneurship not only increases per capita output by creating new jobs, but also acts
as a positive force in economic growth by serving as the bridge between innovation and
application.
Tiris report seeks to provide an overall view of local entrepreneurship in the near future. In
particular, this research aims to provide an insight into entrepreneurial spirit among
tertiary students, who represent one of the ready pools of potential entrepreneurs.
It is found that 47% of the tertiary students interviewed possess entrepreneurial spirit.
Hence, the results do not point towards a very resounding conclusion that entrepreneurial
spirit does exist among the tertiary population.
A final objective of the research is to provide suggestions on ways to promote
entrepreneurial spirit in Singapore. It is recommended that entrepreneurship must be
endorsed by educational institutions, government and the society. |
