Various measures and legislations were put in place to enhance productivity. The Government also supported the construction industry with a recent $450m funding to boost construction productivity. This study aims to suggest a suitable measurement for construction productivity in Singapore and identifies construction productivity influence factors. Building development and construction processes are complex and involved many parties. The scope of this research can be classified into three stages. Firstly, through a literature review, different productivity measurements were discussed and five categories of productivity influence factors were identified. In the second stage, using the information gathered, a questionnaire was designed and distributed to project stakeholders including the developers, design consultants, contractors and professionals from the academic. The questionnaire results were used to rank the influence factors identified according to its importance in improving Singapore’s construction productivity. The preferred productivity measurement was also determined from the input of the respondents. Lastly, data of 20 residential projects were analyzed through statistical approach to develop a relation between different parameters and productivity and understand the impact each parameter has on productivity. The author hoped that the findings will assist the different project stakeholders as well as related organizations in the building and construction industry in making informed decisions on improving construction productivity in their projects and in Singapore.
