Summary: | Climate change of various natural factors exerts impacts on high rise Buildings which is not neglectable. The climate factors such as temperature and precipitation may lead to considerable effects on structural elements of buildings and affect the serviceability as well as the safety of the structure. These changes should be evaluated based on present buildings and construction standard to each related structural element, and obtain the impact of climate change on the element. This report is focusing on two specific changes, wind as well as the combine of rain and gust. Based on literature review and research of IPCC reports, a methodology is constructed, and scientific data obtained as the indication to build interview survey for local construction experience results to compare with the theoretical projection and evaluation. Each change of climate factor is analyzed for every single structural element to evaluate the seriousness of the impact on the element. The general impacts of climate change can be measured by the combination of both interview results and the theoretical research of climate changes trend. This study would try to analyze and find out the impacts of wind and combine of rain with gust on high rise residential building in Singapore local district. |
