Summary: | Voltage and current measurement has been used widely in industrial applications such as power distribution, electronics, and medium voltage applications [1]. Voltage and current measurement is used for purposes of control, protection, monitoring and power management [2]. In order to select appropriate voltage and current sensors for medium voltage converters, parameters such as measurement accuracy, bandwidth, high current and voltage measurement, electrical isolation needs, linearity and stability with temperature and cost should be taken into consideration. Various types of voltage and current sensors based on Ohm’s Law, Hall Effect and Faraday’s Law are discussed in this report. A simulation was conducted to achieve a accurate evaluation of the voltage and current rating. |
