Summary:Energy storage is becoming essential in our daily life as the increasing of population and technology required more electricity to power up them. Vanadium redox flow battery is one of the energy storage devices which is becoming popular in the market one of the reason is due to that the vanadium doesn’t cause any harm to the environment as compared to other flow battery. The vanadium redox flow battery is studied in details in this report on its operational conditions. Temperature changes, electrolyte flow rate, states of charge (SOC), the battery internal resistance and chemical reactions are some of the reason that’s affecting the efficiency and electrical characteristics of the VFB. In order to examine the temperature changes affecting the operation of the VFB, a study in this report is done to understand the different parameter that will affect the operating temperature and electrical characteristics of the VFB. Matlab and simulink programming is used to carry out the simulations. Results and graph evaluation will be presented, followed by a comprehensive discussion will be highlighted in this report.
