Description
Summary:3D printing has been advancing rapidly in the manufacturing sector, gathering a wide variety of users from specialised industries to general public. Engineers use 3D printers to produce specially designed parts for assembly. Doctors also use 3D printers to aid them in the analysis of their patients. General public use 3D printing for its unique customisation ability. Being able to surpass the restrictions of conventional manufacturing, 3D printer is recognised as an innovative way of production method. Many believe it will overtake traditional manufacturing methodology. In this paper, the focus is on how a 3D designed and printed part can improve the performance of an unmanned vehicle by modifying certain parts of the vehicle. A RC Truggy, which is built for off-road condition, will be used as the subject of the experiment. Through application of custom design, the paper aims to understand how 3D printing techniques can be applied to improve the suspension assembly of the RC Truggy.
