The challenging part of the EIS is the foundation of the whole data collection process. Data collection has to be started long before the commencement of the project otherwise no analysis can be done to improve the system. The primary objective of this project was to develop a web service to analyze energy data from school campus to improve the overall building energy efficiency. This is part of the Energy Information System to provide a more cost efficient energy information so as to reduce the unnecessary consumption of energy which in turn can save the resources and keeping the environment green. The data information is extracted from SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) and BMS (building management system) Chemistry Labs. The energy information will then be displayed on the chart based on the hourly, half day and daily energy consumption rate. Energy generated from the photovoltaic will be needed to calculate the energy efficiency of the lab. Important information such as the irradiance of the sun and the photovoltaic area will determine the generation of the energy. From here, the user will know at which part of the day to utilize the backup energy or to utilize on the generated energy. The software development is accomplished using Eclipse where the programming framework used over here is Python 2.7. To connect to the web server, tornado framework have been utilized and last but not least the whole structure of the web page is done up with the HTML, CSS and Java coding.
