Description
Summary:The rapid development of web technology has accelerated the storage method migration from the original paper-based or desktop-based method into large scale web based systems. The advanced technology in both information communication and web design have created many good platforms for web application design which could provide secure, efficient and convenient access to resource anytime and anywhere. This final year project targets to design a web based event management system for industrial usage. The aim of this system is to develop a smart dashboard to monitor and analyse the operation condition of heavy machinery equipment, such as generators, motors, and transformers. for this project, the main focus is to implement the previous developed system in order to provide a more reliable and complete service to users. The completed system offers an interactive interface with various functionalities, and allows users to add, update, and delete records stored inside the database according to their different access rights. Besides, the system also provides detailed analysis of the status of each machine inspected, and recommends proper actions to be carried out to improve the overall equipment performance. The system can also generate formatted or customised graph or report if needed. furthermore, "Root Cause Table" was added into the system to give users a better understanding of root causes of a particular machinery event. The system has been tested several times according to the pre-defined testing scheme to ensure that the final system is robust and error-free. During the development of the web-based smart dashboard, difficulties have been encountered and solved. Valuable experience has been learnt. In the end of the report, recommendations for future system development and conclusions of this final year project have also been stated.
