Description
Summary:Technology has improved so much over the years. It has gradually integrated into our lives. Most of us will not be able to leave the house without any electronics devices. It has become our point of communications. Phones and emails have replaced letters and telegram. However, as these technologies enter our lives, the likelihood of experiencing Electronics Interference (EMI) also increases. There are many types of Electromagnetic Interferences. The most common type is the Radio Frequency Interference (RFI). These are generated by electronics devices operating at certain frequency. This will affect the surrounding equipment, causing it to behave abnormally. These pose a huge threat to the airline industry whereby all the equipment onboard is essential to keep the chassis in the air. Wireless communications are vital on the aircraft. It allows the aircraft to communicate with nearby aircraft and the control towers. It is vital to understand the transmission bands of the equipment to prevent and reduce such interference. In the thesis, we study the effects of wireless communications operating at similar frequency band using a model airplane and a video downlink. We will investigate the effects of interferences and recommend methods to reduce such interference.
