Smart phones can do many things from communicating with people to communicating with other electronic devices. This makes people’s lives easier since we are able to control other devices at the palm of our hand. Hence, technology has evolved to a stage where everybody can benefit from it including the handicapped. One hindrance is cost. The handicapped do not earn much to enjoy the luxuries of technology. Therefore, low-cost microcontrollers like Arduino can be used. The ability to control Arduino with Android is very useful that this function can be used by anybody, young or old. A development of a home automation system could thus be achieved.
