Reducing the energy consumption in production processes can significantly improve
environmental performance of manufacturing system. This master's thesis aims to
develop an accurate, robust and flexible Monitoring and Data Acquisition system.
However, the challenges includes communications with disparate sub-systems and
data sources which have been addressed. Focus is also given on efficient application
development and database design implementation. LabVIEW based system has been
developed to serve as an intelligent base processing system. The process data can be
successfully logged at high data logging rate and the system has shown promising
performance, adaptability and scalability. |
