Description
Summary:Yagi antenna is an important antenna that has been receiving extensive attention with many researches in the past few decades. Yagi antenna is able to achieve a wide bandwidth on a thin substrate. Because of its advantages it has also been used in numerous commercial applications such as satellites, missiles, etc. A microstrip-to-slotline transition in Yagi antenna with compact feeding network is proposed here. The proposed antenna operates in a frequency range of 6 GHz to 18 GHz. ANSYS High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) is used for the simulation of the proposed antenna and to obtain the desired results. The proposed antenna is constructed using the bow-tie and the microstrip-to slotline transitions. The designed model is simulated by HFSS software to obtain the reflection coefficient IS 11 1, radiation pattern, and gain results of the antenna. This is done by changing the dimensions of different parts of the antenna. The antenna is finally optimized with extensive simulations conducted through HFSS by varying the structural dimensions. Simulation results of the proposed antenna exhibit good radiation performance based on the configuration of the final model.
