Summary: | In this project the possibility of energy management through Infrastructure as a Service (Amazon), one of the three fundamentals service models of cloud computing, is being explored. Data generated from a solar panel are being collected and written into an excel file using the LabVIEW software. The data in the excel file is then being read into Eclipse, a java programming platform. The data is then imported into Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS) again using java programming. As the data is now in the cloud it can now be used from anywhere to do many different things like being viewed or a database for a mobile application. This project then explored the possibility of viewing and querying the data on a virtual desktop, i.e. Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) using MySQL Workbench. The virtual desktop can be opened up on most computer almost anywhere. |
