Summary: | MPEG-1 , a compression standard, is mainly used to tackle the compression of both synchro ni zed video and audio under the limitation of bit rate which is 1.5 Mb/s. It main I y consists of transmission and reception systems, medi a videos, as well as broadcast, music audi o specifications and several other relative systems. In 1992, MPEG-1 was developed as an international criterion and in the meantime it is also recognized as [ISO/ IEC 111 72) which is the first time that audio and video compression standard made by MPEG (Moving Pi cture Expert Group) committee. Specificall y, MPEG-1 Audio launches the leading global criterion that identifies the high-qualit y audio di gital format and was correspondingly gained the approval as an international standard by the end of 1992 officiall y. The target of it is to decline the bit rate as well as maintaining superior audio quality such as CD. This di ssertation aims to study the principl es, compare and implement PAM 1 of MPEG-1 Layer! , as well as explore the window effect elimination condition and the perfect reconstruction signal requirement has been met to achieve a better performance. We first di scussed the basic physical characteri stics of the human audio system, and extensively examined the concepts and psychoacoustic principl es that are helpfu l in the stage of designing the MPEG audio coders. The following parts introduce the MPEG-1 audi o specifications, including the codec architecture and the
3-l ayer encoding method to meet di fferent system complexity. After that we clarify in general the di ffe rences between the PAM 1 and PAM 2, and analyze the PAM 1 in detail through step by step processing. The rest part mainly explores the wi ndow
effect elim ination condition and compares the three kinds of window which commonly used to achieve a better performance after we examine the segmentation and overlap-add technique. In addition, the characteristics of three types of window
also have been presented. |
