At the same time, hydraulic systems and electrics come hand in hand, as the electrical components bring greater control and deftness in the maneuvering of the system while tapping on the power of hydraulics. A literature review has been conducted on the usage of hydraulic in rehabilitation equipments. The review is inclusive of Singapore’s aging population trends, existing rehabilitation devices, existing patents review and the sales of rehabilitation patient lifts in the Singapore market. This project will seek to design and develop an innovative hydraulic system for engineering applications in the rehabilitation field – Hydraulic Patient Lift, of which aims to be more affordable to the members of the public and at the same time, preserving the quality of durability and functionality. The design report will illustrate the ideas generation process, product fabrication process and Finite Element Analysis process.
