Description
Summary:Taking advantage of wireless sensor network (WSN) to get the location of forest fire has attracted a lot of research interest. Because it is a cheap, convenient and power saving way to realize the communications between sensor nodes and PC. Besides, the devices needed are light and small, which provides convenience in the test of the localization algorithm. The main purpose of the project is to get the estimated distance between target node and each anchor, which is measured by hops. To get hop counts data, messages need to be broadcast in the network, which can be realized by using Crossbow Micaz Motes. And the main difference between the earlier project is that it is a 3D localization technique, which is more accurate comparatively. With the help of Micaz motes, hop counts information can be collected. Besides that, nesC program and MATLAB simulation are also necessary, which can show users the detailed location of object in a more visual way. And the results of experiments identify the feasibility of the proposed localization algorithm, which can be applied in the real world.
