Summary: | Selective assembly process has been an effective approach to reduce the final assembled product dimension variations ever since the establishment of assembling processes. In this process, all sub parts are measured and grouped into numbers of divisions according to their dimensions. The final product is formed by assembling the sub parts from certain appropriate divisions to meet the design requirements. This FYP is continuing the work from a previous FYP which set the framework of the project. In this report, the complete process of selective assembly is designed and simulated staring from the manufacturing of subparts to the final assembly process. A few points are emphasized including the development of algorithm and the performance verification. |
