Summary: | High specific surface area nanoflakes NiCo2O4 has been fabricated on nickel foam and used as an electrode for supercapacitors with Chinese ink acting as a dispersion agent. The nanoflakes NiCo2O4 are prepared via chemical co-precipitation and post-annealing. The NiCo2O4 are characterized using FESEM, TEM, XRD, TGA, nitrogen gas adsorption and desorption. The electrochemical performances of NiCo2O4 are evaluated in three electrode cell with cyclic voltammetry, galvanostatic charge and discharge. High specific capacitance of 2512.98F/g is obtained at a current density of 2A g-1 with a long cycling stability of 93.5% retention rate after 1500cycles. The excellent electrochemical performance is due to the high specific area of NiCo2O4 grown from well-dispersed carbon black in Chinese ink. |
