The world energy demand is unappeasable and continuing to rise sharply in coming near future. The resultant negativity outcomes from constantly increased energy demand from the world are namely expensive utility cost, greenhouse gas emissions and global warming. Beside above mentioned negative environmental impacts challenges, another huge problem is to generate adequate energy supply for the fast growing energy demand. Therefore, it is very important to have an optimized and efficient energy management system. Otherwise, it is very likely to have power outages when energy demand exceeding the available electricity supply. Modern countries like Singapore, has numerous buildings for various sectors such as residential housings, commercial organizations and industries. Thus energy management system for building is extremely vital in reducing building energy demand and at the same time preserving tenants’ comfort level to the fullest. This final year project’s developments include integration of both hardware and software, renewable energy resources, load(s) shifting from peak to off-peak period, and priority-based load(s) shedding. The project is aimed to design and develop an intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) to enable users for monitoring, controlling and managing energy supply sources, load demand, energy consumption and others in the building. In which leading to highly optimized and efficient energy management system while not jeopardizing the comfort level of tenants at the same time.
