Summary: | iBeacon is one of the most significant technologies of iOS7 which was released by Apple Inc. in September 2013. The working way of iBeacon is that, those devices equipped with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) can be used as iBeacon station within the iBeacon region built, which allows the iOS devices to monitor the iBeacon signal with proximity from a beacon. Since iBeacon has a wider range of communication, precise location information and lower energy consuming, it has become the cutting-edge technology along with related applications (APPs) grow rapidly.
Traditional restaurant services are always passive where waiters can only deal with the customer needs by asking and waiting. We aim to achieve a customer-centric restaurant management system with incorporating contextual information based on the real time location of a customer.
This report will present the iOS APP and cloud server development of a restaurant management system based on iBeacon and cloud computing technology. In this project, customers can use APP for client to view their real-time location information and some basic introductions about the restaurant, while managers can use APP for Customer Relationship Management (CRM) to do some information modification and acquire related information of the restaurant members. Furthermore, APP can transmit the data through Internet based on cloud server and JSON technology. All of the mentioned features of the APP aim to achieve customer-centric service, less labor cost and more effective management. |
