Description
Summary:A Control architecture with programmed framework for an Air Handling Unit of Air-Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation (ACMV) system is proposed in this project. A control architecture is designed to provide basic control of Air Handling Unit in order to facilitate self-configuration and smart handling of ACMV using Master controller for smart building controls system with more robust operations, automatic detection & repair of potential process controls problems. The Control architecture is designed using STM32 Microcontroller Board and Sensors as per company standard. The program involves all the feedback from various sensors to control the various parameters based on these feedbacks. It is designed to allow self-controlling method based on master-slave control. The entire process is broken into smaller segments including data acquisition, master slave communication, PID control and efficient outputs to the field equipment. All the field data are acquired from sensors and stored in the data server using the designed communication protocol for implementing various control structure to optimize the entire process. Master controller does auto parameterization and auto tuning of various PID controls. A prototype control board is used to interface all the field equipment and to provide communication with the remote computer. The control board provides flexibility to control and manage large number sensors and actuators. Communication protocol has been developed in order to provide fast and reliable communication by which all the critical data can be monitored by the remote computer. Experiments were conducted to obtain various control parameters for both air pressure and air temperature control at various condition to demonstrate an efficient control strategy.
